Mission

Aldoria is a New Space start-up on its way to becoming a world leader in the space situational awareness market. Our current activities range from telescope observations to in-orbit collision risk prediction, business intelligence and space surveillance for commercial and government satellite operators.

As a Space Flight Dynamics Intern, you will be involved in R&D studies and take part in the development of Aldoria’s products and services.
Based on both technical and scientific skills in space flight dynamics, aerospace engineering and computer science, you will develop and test new algorithms to contribute to the development of Aldoria’s software dedicated to manoeuvre detection and characterization of space objects.
The internship will include activities covering the following tasks:
* Perform a literature review on existing methods for manoeuvre detection and characterization in space surveillance data.

* Develop and test new packages based on the findings of the literature review.

* Provide recommendations on new models and updates to be integrated in Aldoria’s existing softwares.

* Update Aldoria’s softwares for manoeuvre detection and characterization.

These activities will be carried out under the supervision of an experienced Space Flight Dynamics Engineer within a team of 6 permanent engineers with foreseen interactions with both our Catalogue and IT teams.

Profil recherché

* Academic training in space flight dynamics and aerospace engineering in general is mandatory.
* Academic training in applied mathematics, modelling, artificial intelligence, machine leraning and computer science is valuable.
* Previous experience from academic projects and previous internships in the abovementioned fields is a plus.
* Final year of engineering school or master’s degree with a specialization in aerospace engineering and space mechanics.
* Open to gap year students with previous experience in the mentioned fields.
* Good oral and written proficiency in French and English.
* Experience in Python programming.
* Experience with Linux and Git or any versioning tool is valuable.
* Experience with the Orekit open-source library is valuable.
* Experience with SQL databases is valuable.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Team spirit and appetite for collaborative work.
* Autonomy, proactivity, curiosity and initiative.
* Rigor, good synthesis abilities and critical thinking.
